Host a Church Game Night — the Printable Kit

Everything a youth pastor, children’s director, or small-group host needs to run a great game night with zero budget and one TV. Print this page, follow the run-of-show, and you’re done planning. The game itself — Faith Family Showdown, a feud-style survey game with Christian question packs — is free to play in a browser: no installs, no player accounts, no IT ticket.

What you need

  • A TV or projector that can show a webpage (smart TV browser, or any laptop + HDMI).
  • For team-vs-team party mode: two phones (one per team captain) on Wi-Fi or data.
  • Chairs in two rough team sections, and a table for snacks. That’s the list.

Setup — 15 minutes before

  1. Open faithshowdown.com on the big screen and make sure sound comes through the room speakers (tap Start once — browsers need one tap before they’ll play audio).
  2. Choose your format: whole room vs. the Bot on one screen (simplest), or Host a Party for team-vs-team — the TV shows a QR code and each team captain scans it with their phone to join. No app to install.
  3. Pick a question pack and round count (3 rounds ≈ 20 minutes of play).
  4. Appoint two team captains and split the room into mixed-age teams.

Run of show — 60 minutes

  • 0:00Doors, snacks, music. Teams find their sections.
  • 0:10Welcome + rules in 90 seconds: shout answers to the captain, popular answers score, three strikes and the other team can steal.
  • 0:15Game 1 — three rounds. Play up the reveals; let the room argue with the board.
  • 0:35Halftime: snack refill, swap in new captains so more people drive.
  • 0:40Game 2 — the rematch. The final-round bonus keeps the trailing team alive to the end.
  • 0:55Wrap-up: read one round reflection aloud, one short prayer, announce the next game night.

Tip: mixed-generation teams (kids + grandparents together) make the best games — the questions reward both.
