Host a Bible Game Show on Your TV

This is the mode we built the whole game around: your TV becomes an animated game-show board, two teams face off, and each team plays from the phone already in a captain’s pocket. A survey question goes up (“Name a story from the Bible kids love to hear”), teams race to find the top answers, and strikes, steals, and a final-round bonus keep the whole room shouting. No console, no discs, nothing to install — and every question pack is church-safe, written from the ground up for families and youth groups.
How it works — two minutes from TV to game show
- Put the board on the big screen. Open faithshowdown.com on anything that can reach your TV or projector — a laptop on HDMI, a smart TV browser, a phone or tablet casting — and tap Host a Party. The board shows a room code and a QR code.
- Captains scan and join. One player from each team scans the QR code and joins from their phone’s browser. No app, no account — the phone becomes that team’s buzzer and answer pad.
- Pick your pack and settings. The host chooses a question pack, the number of rounds, and an optional per-turn timer right from the lobby. The free starter pack covers a full game night.
- Play the showdown. Teams take turns typing guesses at the survey board. Three strikes hands the other team a steal, the final round doubles the points, and every reveal lands with game-show sounds on the TV.
The whole room plays, not just two phones
The two captains hold the phones, but nobody sits out. Everyone shouts suggestions to their captain — the grandmother who knows her Old Testament, the seven-year-old with a surprisingly strong opinion about Noah’s ark — and the captain has to pick one under the timer. With a big group, the arguing over which answer to type is honestly the best part of the night. Survey questions are what make it work: the question isn’t “what does the Bible say,” it’s “what did people answer?” — so kids guess as well as adults and nobody needs to be the Bible scholar.
Jackbox-style, but written for a church crowd
If your group has played Jackbox, this format needs no explanation: game on the TV, phones as controllers. The difference is the content. Most party packs weren’t written with a fellowship hall in mind, and the family-friendly filters only cover the prompts — what players type is up to them. Setting it up in a fellowship hall or living room
- Screen: any TV or projector that can show a webpage. Laptop + HDMI is the most reliable; test it 15 minutes early.
- Wi-Fi: the game is light, but the captains’ phones need a connection — put the guest Wi-Fi password on the screen, or they can use their own data.

How many people can play a Bible game show at once?
As many as fit in the room. Two team captains hold the phones, and everyone else plays through them — shouting answers, arguing rankings, and celebrating the steals. We've run it with a family of ten and with a fellowship hall.
Does hosting a Bible game show cost anything?
The starter pack is free and covers a full game night — a 5-round game plus a rematch. Themed question packs are optional one-time purchases, and only the host ever pays; players and guests never do.
What do I need to run it at church?
A screen that can show a webpage (a laptop on HDMI is the most reliable), Wi-Fi or phone data for the two team captains, and about two minutes. Test the screen 15 minutes early, split into mixed-age teams, and you're hosting.
